I think that most large bikes don't look well proportioned. And since aesthetics are a large part of BOTM (as well as a good yarn, creative pic etc ) then I really think that the look of a larger bike will put many off. That isn't to say I don't think your Newsboy isn't an amazing bike, with a remarkable spec - it clearly is. It just unfortunately doesn't look as 'right' as, say, a medium sized Newsboy. It has nothing to do with the bike not being my size, more to do with the fact that it simply doesn't float my boat in the overall look.
A large traditional frame with a slightly sloping top tube will still do the trick for me. There are plenty around if you care to look.

Interesting perspective. Are there any large bikes (suitable for someone of, say, 6'3"+ tall) that you think DO look well-proportioned?
If I applied that criteria, I'd have to dismiss 99% of BOTM entries as looking "poorly proportioned" for being only so small, right?
