Mean and Dirty Bognor

Hello, my first post. I have been biking for about 20 years now. I'm from Hampshire and am looking to buy an old bike....the few that I used to dream about when I was twelve in the early 90's when I wasn't thinking about girls ha ha

Does anyone remember Mean and Dirty in Bognor/west Sussex, they sold mainly Kona. They had a team bike that I remember and am thinking about copying. Did any one else see this bike?

Yep, other great shops back then were 2XS down in the Witterings (Bought my Clockwork there) and both Butler Cycles & Rock and Road in Portsmouth.

Certainly remember MaD ; a mate's business now occupies their old premises and I'm pretty sure my Cindercone was bought from there originally. Merrick ( who ran the shop ) last I heard was working for a bike importer.

Bought my Lava Dome and kilauea there back in the early 90s, would drool over Merrick's Hei Hei everytime I was in there. Did anyone else go to their open/test days at Whiteways?

Dunno about 2XS, the guy who ran it was bellend, Butler Cycles became Wiggle and I dont remember Rock and Road, Portsmouth Cycle Exchange is still about though

Good to see lots remember. They had a team bike that they had sprayed purple and yellow then kona stickers applied. Does anyone remember this?

I'm thinking of doing the same thing if I can get hold of a good kona base bike to start with.
