I'm obsessed with Al Carter, the Townsend luxury brand. Mine has just died after 27 years and I'm desperate for another. Got a Merlin for now which is a far better bike but it's just not "right"

I loved my Al Carter Black panther. All DX, gone now as it didn't fit and killed me riding it for more than 10miles. They did some very nice bikes and paint schemes.

Mine was a pinto creek, put a gash in the frame getting a stuck seat post out. Could of sobbed lol. Apparently it's too tricky to weld. They're such great bikes, I've not seen one I didn't like

townsend and falcon (not the good one) were at large round here, but they were "made" local and all the bikeshops had them in for parents with little interest or money.

Plus Emelle, Ammaco, Daewoo, Huffy, British Eagle, Coventry Eagle, Magna... can't think of any more.

I had a Universal Sierra Nevada... it had caliper brakes and a 1 piece crank!
