just a little heads up, I think I know where you are going with these parts, and before spending any money, you ought to think of the stackheight for the headset, im unsure if a Mavic or Stonglight will fit either of the fork options you have suggested.
Hi mate,

Thanks for the heads up.

If I find one I will try it as it originally had a Campag headset on which isn't that short. If its doesn't work then I'm sure I can find something suitable.

Still undecided on paint (as I normally am). Do you think black and gold is a bit tacky?

G

If the frame with the present fork had a Campag you will be fine, if you are going to change to the other fork and that was running XT you might struggle, but if need be, I can increase the available space needed with a lathe, without damaging the paint already on the newly painted fork if needed.

I like the idea of the black and gold especially with the parts being shown here, but it is a fine line between "classy" and "John Player Special" I think.

The hubs in those wheels are smooth....!

Thanks mate, I think I will stick with the original forks that are with the frame so hopefully it'll be ok.

Do you need the rings?

I think I have the original granny ring.
Cranks came with original rings so all sorted for those...

Thanks
