Mavic Monthlery Pro/ Spidel Hubs Wheelset

Retro Newbie
Hello,

I have a vintage road bike with unkown brand because was repainted in my teens 20 years ago when i bought it, after a hiatus i want to put it back on the road but the rims are pretty banged up. So enters "new" wheelset, Mavic monthelery pro rims with Spidel large flange 36h hubs.
Already did some cleaning to the front one, removing the glue from the old tubular tires is a pain... they are also goning to need some trueing and the front hub has some pitting but i'm curious to know the opinion of the forum about the set.

Reasonable quality sprints from the late 1970s/early 1980s. Under the Spidel conglomerate badging the hubs are Maillard (not the 700 range as they had black plastic bearing dust covers, but something close in quality) and with use of an semi-aggressive metal polish like Autosol should shine up to an almost mirror finish - the stuff is likely to remove the foil labels though. I'm pretty certain that the Monthlery Pro wasn't available with an anodised finish so they should brighten up well too with a bit of work.

I'm almost certain at some point in life the rims where laced is this hubs and new spokes, they are stainless and look like new, the nipples also look ok and don't see rust in any place. The cassete is a 6 speed Maillard Course 13-18 teeth, someone had good legs
Now gave it a clean in both wheels and later send it to true and only after that the finish, was thinking about using car paint polish on them.
Due to a business that came trough the wheels are on stand by, closed a deal on a complete bike with a TVT 92 carbon frame with Shimano 600 parts 😁
