Mavic 670 hub tool

Guys, I need a hub dust cover removal tool. The 6 pin type looks like a block remover.
My cpx30 rear wheel needs new bearings, plus I have a bottom bracket that I need to do the bearings in.

I understand it is part 670.

Thank you.

unless the alloy adjusting disc is loose that plastic tool will just fail big time. Are you wanting to replace the bearings in a Mavic BB? if so finding a replacement will be near impossible as it was a special ( std size but with the outer diameter reduced)

where about are you located?

Re:

It's French engineering.

It's the 1980s. The design team is in full discussion in a room hazy with the smoke of Gauloise.

'You have messed up the design of the hub....'
'why?'
'The earlier proposal needed a special tool that no one had, the metal was the wrong grade, and it was far too complex....'
'yes, but I made it simpler and more robust....'
'You fool! We are MAVIC!! No one makes a crap design simpler and better on my watch!!!!'
'Sorry....I'll add complexity and lack of reliability to it.....'
'Perfect'

Nice film but they didn't fit the 2 plastic washers to the BB. lovely BB's. I have a few in my box of bits and some spares and tools for most Mavic parts.

Thanks for the info. I'm really keen to get the tool, if I can't find one it will be a new hub, I have a couple but it would be a shame to go to that length when the tool is floating around somewhere.

Re:

I had one still on in the cardboard/plastic wrapping, hadn't used it in 20 years, put it on Ebay & got £50 for it! I was amazed. The machining of the pins is pretty complicated, they sort of sit on top of another pin ...

We should all chip in to a collective retrobike toolkit, that we can dip in to when we need that obscure tool that can no longer be found anywhere.

Re:

Quite agree. I have the mavic ssc headset spanners if required. Plus a few chain whips!
If your fixed cup is stuck I have welded a big socket onto one and removed with a long bar. Happy to offer this to frustrated middle aged men trying to rebuild their
Bikes from the 80s. With no or little paint damage.
