Marin Titanium Frame (1995?) For Sale, now £250

I bought this a couple of years ago and was planning to build it up but it's sat in the loft pretty much ever since and it's not going to get done so it's time to move it on to someone who will use it. I think it's a 1995 judging from the frame number (see pics below), the frame is in really nice shape with no scratches or cracks that I can see and everything appears to be nice and straight. The only thing I can see wrong is the sticker on the headtube is slightly damaged and has peeled away a bit. It does have mounts for a rear disk brake mount, it looks like it was done this way at the factory judging from the finish (?). Anyway, the pictures reveal the deal, I'm after £300 for this, prefer collection from Sidcup in SE London but can post if you're keen. I can take PayPal but not via gift, we'll need to split the fees.

If anyone has questions, wants more pics, etc. then let me know.

EDIT: According to the frame number this is a 17.5" but is closer to a 18.5/19", I think Marin measure centre to centre.

Re:

I would suggest letting folk know what size the frame is maybe. The 50 on the bb shell a clue ?

Re: Marin Titanium Frame (1995?) For Sale

Good point, I've edited the post, frame number says 17" but feels closer to a 18.5/19".

Re:

Marin measure centre to centre so just measure that.

17.5" (CTC) marin Ti has the same effective top tube of 23" as a Kona 18" (CTT) of that era.
(So no it feels like a 17.5/18" frame, how can 'it feel' if you've not built it up and ridden it ;-) )

Could be 95 or 96, probably same frame anyway. Stickers are not correct for 95 so check if 96 decals or a replacement give it has a disc tab welded to it (aftermarket). Headtube is 95 badge though.

Catalogues, specs etc are in the gallery&archive.

The frame number certainly seems to indicate a 95 frame, the disk mount did puzzle me too but I was kind of out of the game by then so I thought Marin may just have been early adopters. If someone has bodged it on afterwards they have done a damn good job of it!

I did take a look at the catalogs on here and the decals did through me a bit as none seemed to exactly match what I have, so maybe someone has just applied later decals to an older frame. The 'Marin' decals do seem to be a bit newer than the ones on the seat tube and head tube.

Anyway it is what it is, a very nice condition Ti frame from a respected name

Re:

Marin were usually behind in the adoption game, they where canti through and through and quill stems in 1995.

A 1995 made frame may also be a 1996 frame as 1996 model would start in August/September, bit like an academic year. Assuming marins year was a made in number.

Tab is a nice addition and would make a good modernised Retrobike :)

I had a look at the '96 catalog and it doesn't seem to have disk mounts either

Maybe someone has added them afterwards?
