Retro Newbie
Hi everyone. I came across this at a local bootsale. I think mostly original parts. Well used - frame is a bit tarnished at laquer level, worse in some areas than others. 7 speed shifter is not shifting. Rear cassette worn out. Basically a restoration project for someone or I turn it into a hack bike to ride or sell. Just wondering what it's worth as is though before I start stripping parts

What did you pay for it? That is what its worth.

Have a look on ebay at 7spd STX components, add them up and thats your value. I'd pay £30 as it is if I wanted it, expecting it to need work.

I paid 60. The shifter stopped working later, so was thinking it would just be a clean up. I liked it and happy to keep as a hack bike with riser bars. Or as I live in London can fix up with old parts and sell as a commuter for someone.

so for that purpose £60 is a bargain

Spray a load of light spray oil in the shifter and work it up and down the gears a lot, should sort it out.

Where else are you going to buy a working bike for £60 if you need one.
