Primers done! Started with etch which I wet sanded with 600grit, clean down with rubbing alcohol then applied the 2K high build. Again going to sand this back before going fluro!!!!

So first couple of coats done, what do we think of the color? The bars are just a test to see what the black looks like. Its anthracite not black but I think it works. Going to let this fully cure then wet sand again before applying the next coat.

looks pretty close! will need a good clear coat over the top to make it all shiny!!

The clear coat is the key as nporternz says. I did some marin dayglow pink stuff a while back. 6 coats of clear, then a week drying in the airing cupboard!

Then went over it with 1500, 2000, 2500 wet and dry followed by cutting polish.

Overkill, possibly, but looks like glass!

That look great. Not overkill at all, that's what i'm shooting for. I'm planning on using a 2k clear.

You must be doing something right as I clicked on the full frame image and thought "looks just right" lol.

Yes, low sheen the whole lot 2k defo.
Marin did that, but not easy to see some 29 years on in british weather. Great effort mate, looks proper.
For ref. One of my old palisades, dry, shady stored since 92. That's the lacquer/coat they put out.
