OK, here we are with my first attempt at BoTM. An early to mid (?) 90's Bontrager with a 1" headset and canti hanger.
Size is 19.5" with gears an XT and XTR mixture. I'm afraid I make no apology about the modern wheels and componentry. The nine speed works well (so far), so stays for now although I would be happier with eight. The wheels weigh not a lot and are still true and I love the Maguras.
The rest is a mixture of Pace, Thomson, USE and Chris King. I managed to find a a Turbomatic III (cheers Dekerfintheshed), to match all the other bikes in the fleet.
I don't get to ride much anymore, (I wiped away the last of the Cannock grit from the Retrobike meet for these photos)but when I do this is the bike I reach for. The geometry seems to suit my unusual proportions!

An extremely high quality field this month, so far about half a dozen would be worthy winners. For me though the Lemond with the Mavic groupset is so classy and an interesting change from XTR/Cooks/Pauls etc. (not that they aren't very tasty in their own right).

I HATE litespeed, but i really like that one, whats gthe bar? the hatred is due to the fact that i used to work work in the industry and watch ABG (litespeed parent company)rutinely bend my customers over, simple warrenty issues.

Well Ti aint my bag, but hell what a line up!

The Lemond is making the front of my trouser legs shiny

Cheers,Al

Making choices just got tougher...Kdh's 92 Xizang

I'd like to nominate this period correct 92 NOS (yes NOS) GT Xizang LE. It belongs to a good friend of mine Kdh. The bike has an amazing story behind it. K is probably the best to tell the story. I'm sure you'll enjoy the pictures.
As most of you know the Xizang LE was the ride of GT's "Team Scream" back in the heydey of the NORBA and Grundig circuits. Raced by Rishi Grewal, Juliana Furtado, Tom Rogers, Gerhard Zadrobilek, Chantal Daucourt and others. Certainly one of the if not THE most popular Ti frames/bikes of all time in the sport of mountain biking. Early on produced by Maurice Lavoie later by Sandvik/TiSports. Cast you ballots for this beauty....
