Manitou FS frame - Cracked and how much?

Damn thats a shame, as that looks sweet. One of the cleanest I've seen. . damn. ..

Agree !! Tis minty apart from that poxy inherant crack !! How could they have bullsed up the design of such a lovely frame.

Ide have one but it would be for road use only !! Thats for sure :D

Thing is, repair it and it'll just crack somewhere else !! Looks great hanging up in the garage though ;)

Lol, it's frame and forks chaps. I went back and forward on the idea for a while, and made some errors in the listings as a result, but they are paired up again.

In terms of pricing, it's ballpark with the cracked/repaired FS frame recently sold (and then resold) on this website:

delboy009 - Interesting to note that you were far more receptive to the repaired jimjim2012 frame above and yet you are quick to put the boot in here  The seat clamp and front mech alone would sell for more than £75 so play fair. I won't even ask how you know for sure a repaired head tube will fail because it's clear you don't know what you're talking about. These frames are often repaired and then ridden for years - I know of plenty. And as MJN says, it's not a difficult repair... and he does know what he's talking about.

iirc there was that headtube repaired manitou fs that went for £800 or so complete. (i think the guy was asking £1000 on the forum before listing on ebay.)

mine's winging it's way to france...

it is unfortunate that the manitous are prone to craking but then they are light as a feather. the large manitou hardtail i had was 3.5lb or so due to Easton 'it's-only-Wafer-thin' tubeset.

anyhoos, Manitou916 is a sound guy and that frame does look mighty pretty and the price looks fair for all that is included. Everything i've bought from him has been in excellent shape - yeah, the frame is cracked - but looks very clean.
