Manitou FS 1993 (Final Project Page 3)

The Judge

Cannondale Fan
Hello, last year I found this 1993 Manitou Fs in 18 inches in Germany. Honestly, when it comes to restoration, I'm an amateur. I know Cannondale, but not Manitou. It's a special bike, I've seen them as a teenager, but it's worth it. To restore it I'm doing it with my usual Bike Shop Mechanic and Antoine V (The Manitou Guru, and great guy !). It's not cracked (which is rare), but it stayed a long time without running, ... I'll try to get to the end of this project. Thanks to all of you. M

That's very tidy, I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
Can't help but wonder what model Rotwild that is just out of the picture - it looks great!

First thing I did was to redo the saddle a lot damaged, ... well the result is average, better than before, but well, ... I tried.

For the fork, I found a Manitou Three with a long pivot, to make an headset ... Antoine V made me a disassembly tutorial for the front and rear fork. Fortunately Antoine was there ! I decided not to use elastomer, but springs ...

Rear suspension was more difficult … but it’s near done … lot of acetone. Elastomer were stick on the bottom.

Very nice, those elastomers can be a pain to get out. Great work on the seat.
I’m just building up an earlier version… not sure what spec it’ll end up. Rebuilt the forks last week. Lovely bikes!
