Waxoil is very similar to framesaver but framesaver is the what the cool kids use ;)
Also remember if you ever get it painted, especially powder coated tell them before hand that its filled with waxoil. That way they can prep it so that it wont come pouring out all over a fresh paint job once it goes in the oven. this usually happens overnight so by the time its discovered its ruined a paint job and has to be started from scratch again. From experience the painter will not be f**kin happy :)

Re:

Putting 2+2 together Rob, is this for the troll? If so I'm fairly certain Surly use an ED coating on the inside of their frames. No need for extra protection. Had a very recent discussion about this with a pal who is building a Straggler at the moment. Anyway worth checking if it is the Troll and if it is coated.

Re:

Well ...................... its funny you should say that cause it is the Troll I'm on about AND when I took that pic today in good sun light I could see there is a finish on the inside of the frame so you could be right.

Depends where your taking it I suppose. I have only done my Pugsley as it gets used in ssalt water quite often, but my 1X1 and trucker are fine as is. (so far) ;)

I don't know whether or not my Trucker is done but I don't see the need to do every frame if its just for normal use. Should I?

Re:

Personally I would do it if it got a lot of beach/bad weather use or if it was ultra thin like prestige. Generally all I do with mine is spray a bit of gt85 into the downtube and the little holes at the end of the tubes once in a while.... or buy titanium and stop worrying :)

Looks like it is only the more recent Surly frames that will have the ED coating, still worth checking.
