Went out for an hour on the kona (its offlcially ******* brilliant), now drinking beer and popping painkillers for the knee which is louping

Thinking about putting some bouncy forks on my Mongoose IBOC. Unless I can sort out a steerer for my 60mm travel Zokes in time that means it's going to be some Z1s I have. Frame is a 1992, which proudly proclaims it has suspension corrected geometry, but the difference in axle to crown from the rigid to the bombers could be as much as 100mm, probably a little less.

That seems like too much to me, anyone know different? I'll probably throw them on tomorrow and see if they turn it into a chopper.

Actually, scrap the above, I've managed to source a steerer for the otherwise completer set of Marzocchi Zokes I have. I'm sure even the 92 'goose can cope with their whopping 50mm of travel! On the bounce test the rebound does feel a touch sluggish, but I expect that's just cos they're a bit shit. I'll grease up the insides and then they'll be good to tacke the Devil's Staircase!

Anyone got a recommendation for a good wheelbuilder? One of the spokes on the road bike broke, would do it myself but i will need to remove the suntour freewheel (and dont have the tool) so might as well get a pro to do it........
