MacRetro chat and rides thread

I'll probably be heading out for a local (Renfrewshire) ride on Thursday morning.
Maybe the Braes (to finish the exploring I had to abandon last week when I broke the mech hanger) or the Neilston pad (might try to link them if I'm feeling energetic) or a half road / half trail route from Johnstone to B o W then over the moor and down to Lochwinnoch (another longish route)

Anybody that's not working or otherwise engaged welcome to join me.

Rob, as memory serves me from ZZ and my trip there for a previous meet, Thrunton is just off the A697 south of Wooler. Get onto the A68 at Dalkieth and head south to the roundabout at Carfraemill then take the exit for the A697 and stay on that southward into Englandshire. Go past Wooler and then through the wee village of Powburn, the turn off for Thrunton is about 4 miles beyond there on your right. Si can obviously give you better instructions.

Thruntons great, very similar to Blairadam but with greater elevation and thus steeper descents. One rocky descent has claimed several MacRetro on the various visits we've done, it certainly pitched me over the bars into the heather and I believe it got Kaiser in the past also

here is the newsletter, let me know if you have any thoughts or additions?

Sept Review

There has been some great sunday rides out in the kingdom of Fife this month. Our east coast so-solid-crew, have been mashing it up big stylee and if you can put up with the obvious genetic shortcomings all are welcome to join them on what seems to be a weekly singletrack shindig type thang.

Arran has been explored again by The Ken and rado and is as always, a mt bike and road haven. If you are ever up in bonnie eccosse then a visit to this Isle is well worth it and for the price of a killie pie, a macretro rider will come with you will and endevour to get you lost at no extra charge.

October Preview

Apart from the ongoing weekly rides, the high"light" will be the night ride at Glentress. Not a exclusive retro ride but sure there will be a good selection of old pig iron and all in honour of the original repack rides albeit in the dark. should be lots of crashes and all welcome.

Friday 21st October- Glentress
