MacRetro chat and rides thread

Ok guy's bit of an odd one but I am considering buying a turbo trainer - being new to this odd technology what do I look for? I don't want to spend a great deal but I guess it is not the best time of year to be looking for second hand ones either.

I have seen this one in Hellfrauds that looks good value :) ...

Also a loan of one might be an option for a month or 2 if anyone has one they aren't using.

Helfrauds are trying to screw you again.Appears its £87-99 everywhere.dont know where they are getting original price of £187 from :?

Thanks to Mikee for his encyclopaedic bike knowledge.
Bought a frame on Ebay for pennies, as yet to receive it. Asked you guys what you thought it was, Mikee says Scott Superlite. A bit of checking against similar bikes on Retrobike against ebay picture leaves me pretty certain IT IS a Scott Superlite.....RESULT !

Of coures it might not be but the alloy frames identical to a Superlite and the pink forks were a feature of the original 1990 spec. Original spec was full XT which suggests its not a base level klunker.

How can anyone just glance at one of the numerous frames built in the history of mtb and say.....oh that might be a Scott Superlite. I cant remember my own name sometimes let alone all the subtle nuances of differing frame manufacturers. Well done Mikee, I'm impressed ;)

Thanks mikee - a dundee search brought up nothing...

The gumtree one is overpriced for second hand no matter how much he's used it. It isn't the same colour as the one in the pic either so that usually means an older or different model.

Although is isn't the model I was after I'll go for the ebay one if the price doesn't go up too much.
