MacRetro chat and rides thread

Ok no rules! Consider it a theme for 'bike of the ride', the theme is cheapish retroish weight weenie. And we'll put it to a vote. You can buy, swap, sell, mod, steal whatever you like. You can detail your build in a thread or keep it top secret till the meet. If you go too modern with stuff it might put people off, same if you spend too much. I don't think its needed that you detail every price but you might want to point out bargains or excessive spending. The weigh in will be a factor but the lightest might not necessarily be the winner. We'll leave it to the masses.

Though this is TK's ride and he might have other ideas.

I'll be opting out of this, really struggling with my bike MOJO and i cant see it improving for January, will be enough for me to turn up to the ride with one of the four bikes i have let alone build a new one, besides my builds tend to take six months, weigh a ton and cost a fortune , will probably take the Clockwork as i've revised the riding position and getting on with it a bit better.

I'm opting oot of this comp as well due to the impossibility of building a lightweight gate on a very narrow budget.

I reckon its a straight race between Kaiser, Mikee and Gaz as they have the budgets, existing parts bins and in Mikee's case the kit to machine down components

Not really a comp open to everyone but hey, let them have their fun ;)

don't you have an angle grinder and a drill ?

if the total does'nt include the rider then i might have a bash

Its not about winning Velo its about taking part  maybe the voters will appreciate what you've done :?: maybe shown a bit of ingenuity or summat! Or sourced a 20lb bike from the bike station!

I wonder how many holes you can drill in a high tensile steel frame before its strength is compromised............hmmmmmmmmmm

Bikes have to be rideable at Dunkeld, no showing up with weight weenie special but pulling out another bike for the ride, that is a rule I think we must have

yes one proviso then, it should complete the ride

I'm flattered by your comments velo but as I already posted, I have no other frames to do this task and I'm sure there will be lots of contenders in this given its just for laughs. I might not even be at this one but my old dale was cobbled together for about £160 and it would have kicked add so you don't need a big budget at all.
