MacRetro chat and rides thread

Are you chaps still going round the Pollok estate circuit ?.
Though i might join you one eve :). ankle still fubar and likely to be permanent, but a little gentle exercise shouldn't cause it too much strain.

Wednesday nighters are postponed just now Andy but reckon they'll start again soon enough!

i'll have a rummage and see what i can cobble together
starting afresh ,prolly a dale frame too

you want to sketch out some loose rules for this ,nothing too stringent tho

TK? Agree it should just be for fun, it'd be hard to quantify value versus weight.

I think everything I've bought was under a tenner or from the parts bin.

dunkeld weeine rules
1 sq taper b/b only
2 at least 1 part must be "tuned"
3 weight without pedals?
4 only new stuff to be cables/chain and maybee tyres

or maybee no rules other than a spirit of the event thing

got man flu but going out to the shed ,for i am inspired

you do have a very well stocked parts bin kaiser ;)

play it fast and loose and majority vote at end would be fair, wish I had my old dale for this :?

someone got some scales?

well you got 2 months to get it sorted gazz

I need to get this straight in my head.

You guys are suggesting for Dunkeld we build a bike from our parts bin.

Does this mean our parts bin as of a set time point such as today or does the parts bin continue until a cut off of 29th January.

As all our bikes are built of parts anyway are we talking used, NOS, a max purchase price etc. Are the bikes from a similar time point, technology level etc.

Basically I feel if we dont set firm rules on this then its not really a competition. Kaiser or Mikee would probably win as they have the most stock of high end goodies.

The build off in the summer makes more sense as its a race to build a bike from the ground up in a set time. All our bikes in essence are 'parts bin specials' unless some ground rules are established.
