MacRetro chat and rides thread

I had the same dilema. I found the 90's wanna-be-racer stuff with stretched out arse in the air riding possitions to be uncomfortable. That's why I now go for the earlier 80's stuff. Not to long, nice lazy geometry, stems with rise and nice wide bars with lots of backsweep. Makes for a comfier bike on longer days. You should try riding your Wicked instead of just looking at it ;)

Nowt wrong with having a modern bike for riding gazz, one that works and is quite fun. Either that or try a Zaskar, best retro bike for modern life IMO. You might even get a swap for the Stumpy, I'm sure mikee will facillitate you

I am on my way to getting the fat ready to be ridden (top tube is to short at the moment Si) so will see if that is a solution, might even see how the mental dale copes offroad.

Agree Kaiser modern is not bad per-say but I'm to much of a tight arse to spend the dosh, could get 2 fats for the same money

mind you the yo set up is still pretty comfy and with gears should get used more.

Bizarrely the older I get the more those early 90's XC bikes appeal. I seem to prefer hussling a tiller steered rigid bike. It could be due to being long and stretched out myself that makes these XC bikes my cup of tea.
Late 90's stuff may as well be modern in my book so as Kaiser says, its good to have one modern bike.

Still going to ride on Saturday as i need a recovery day prior to Monday so looks like i'm on my own and thus i'll go to GT as less motivation is required to get me there

Mikee have you seen the work stand thread? Shurely your creation should be there?

My 5 year old today asked me to tell kaiser to enter the tour de France so he could watch him on tv......kids mind you mr k do you fancy it?

Will do, number 2 :D

When I was down in Bolton they had the Jumbo Vision at the finish line. I ran over to see my family and then over the line, my nearly 2 year old daughter was beside herself 'daddy tv, daddy tv'  Later that night she woke up and shouted 'daddy tv' again :D

Tell him this is me at the tour :)
