MacRetro chat and rides thread

Me and Toons are thinking about sacking work on Wednesday and getting a bit of riding in. Is anyone free if we head over the border?? I quite fancy a bit of Glentress.

Si

Was down at GT yesterday for a quick burl in the afternoon. Heavy slush by the time you hit marker 16, effectively unrideable (start of that long horrible fire-road climb up to the Spooky Wood climb itself). According to a couple of guys I spoke to, Spooky Wood mostly unrideable too. I went as far up as Super G - the top third of this was also very slushy in places, but clear from then on down, quite enjoyed it actually, but not sure if it was worth the walk.

Looks like things will thaw a bit between now and Wednesday, though still below freezing at night, so I wouldn't expect too much of an improvement.

Still a good days riding to be had, but don't expect to ride Spooky and a fair bit of hike-a-bike if you are thinking of going as high as Super G.

Will check with my boss see if I can join you.

Why are you training, its not a race, ZZ you really dont get SS do you
I know, I know, I just want a decent level of SS fitness that'll allow me to complete the course. Last couple of rides were a bit of an eye-opener, and I need to find my SS legs again.
