today I received 2 letters from 2 different h.m customs offices telling me about the new tax codes for a job I hadn't done for years and " you need a tax code so the jobcentre plus can check your tax position when you come off jobseeker's allowance , or at 5 april 2011 , whichever is sooner "

Erm :roll: stopped claiming that in december thanks . Fooking bureaucracy , don't any of these departments talk to each other ? how can I have a tax code for a job I left years ago and the jobcentre I no longer go to ; they should be telling me about the job I'm doing now .

Why is it that whenever I get a brown envelope letter in the post I know I'm going to have to make phone calls . Got a scotch bloke once I could talk to a real person who told me I needed to tell them my new paye code once I get it but they knew I stopped claiming jobseekers in december :? If they know I'm no longer claiming it then don't send me a code for the following tax year for it

One of the letters mentions a tax return , they better not try sending me one of those

Fooking tax return has been hanging over me for weeks. Have decided to do it next month when i have more time. I'll get a fine but I did last year anyway- and they were paid in time. They will go easy on me as for the last 9 months everything from the Inland Revenue as come addressed as Rt. Hon.
