before someone writes into points of view and complains about my industrial language, my colourful dialogue was a parady of malcolm tucker a character in the political comedy "in the thick of it" he is the modern version of mr humphreys that zz eludied to in a previous post- I was just making the connection- had I know we had such delicate flowers so easily offended, I would have just posted a link. The practical point lads is that we do not have control over who veiws this forum. Some people may not wish their children to see such language etc.

I did not say do not use bad language I just requested you disguise it a wee bit more with a higher * to letter ratio. Several letter acronyms are another way around the issue.

I do not believe profanity is neccesary but I will not remove it from peoples text , I only ask for a degree of self edit, that I might with great reluctance, add to.

I also accept that some will veiw my request with contempt and choose to ignore me. I have little real power and cannot stop anybody from behaving as they see fit. Editting is all I can do and as I say I do this with reluctance.

Velo the forum is self editing. You cannot type a profanity without the forum app changing it itself. Furinstance I typed naked earlier. Not using * and you can see what happens. Should we supercede the controls already in place?

I think it is a good idea for all area groups, should be a tag that is earned either on a ride or given to active members on the Area forums - as long as we post elsewhere it should raise the profile of the area groups.

I have raised it with the powers that be. Done a rough with my avatar, shamlessly stealing ZZ prototype for reference. I went green blue because it suited the badge more - used black watch tartan. Still needs a bit of work.
