So how many of you 'Scots' are indeed Northumbrians?

Found on Facebook- the constution of the Northumbria Liberation Army...

1) A free and independent Northumbria (Stretching from the River Forth, Lothian, Scotland and to the Humber, including all of North Yorkshire and Humberside), Cumberland - but not Westmorland - all of Dumfries and Galloway, Scottish borders, Lothian and Strathcylde (but only the best bits - the Scots can have the Trident Nuclear Base).
2) Edinburgh be restored as the Northern Capital of Northumbria and Eoferwic (the Angle name before the Vikings changed it to Jorvic) York made the Southern Capital of Deira. Bamburgh of course should be the state capital of all.
3) The Saxons (southerners) to stop immediately interfering in our northern ways and culture
4) Northumbrian (broad dialect) must be taught alongside the foreign saxon tongue in Northumbrian Schools.
5) The return of the Lindisfarne Gospels (thieving Saxons!)
6) The Duke of Northumberland be elected by the Muckle Moot to be the King of Northumbria (constitutional and ceremonial only of course - the real power lies in the hands of the Inner Witan (cabinet).
7) To end the ceaseless immigration of rich southern Saxons and Scots to our fair land.
8 ) All southern Saxon and Scots second holiday homes to be seized by the state and given to young struggling Northumbrians and students as affordable housing
9) An end to the domination of foreign news services such as the BBC, Sky, STV, Border TV et al and the setting up of Northumbrian News Service. Also a Northumbria language television channel made in the region.
10) To replace the council tax with the Moot levy.
11) Rebuilt the shipyards on the Tyne, Wear and Tees so to build a Royal Northumbrian Navy
12) to give every child born in Northumbria (Noydhymbralond originally) a Shepherd's Tartan kilt (Adult size - when they fit into it when grown up they're ready to be warriors as well as Shepherds)
13) Lower taxes
14) free healthcare for the auld 'uns
15) To have all Northumbrians (scot lowlanders, north cumbrians, denzens of Durham, cleveland and North Yorkshire and Humberside) united under one flag the gold and red barred flag of Northumberland
16) Northumberland History to take precedence over Scottish and Saxon foreign propaganda in history lessons
17) Northumbrian culture to be restored to its greatness by full support to Northumbria Arts, Crafts and Literature.
18 ) Establishment of Sports Excellence Academies
19) St Cuthbert and St Oswald to be made official saints of the Kingdom.
20) Tarrifs to be established at our borders to protect the shepherd's and our industries from scottish and saxon cheap imports.
21) Demand that The Scots go back to their home land - Ireland! And their land be given to the Doric People (Scots in North Scotland are a separate people from The Scots who came from Ireland - the Low Landers are actually Angles) Divide and Conquer.

Looks like I qualify for one of those skirts youse wears after all! Might have to change NE&Yorks group to Northumbria Group now

after watching the leadville video- kind of want to try maybe a 50 mile event and poss more if I can get my training sorted, not saying 100 at the mo but it would be a good distance to aim at long term- coming round to your orig idea of enduro xc.

Although I know that Northumbrian bits a piss take i'm still amazed at the historical innacuracies.

Dumfries and Galloway have never been part of Northumbria. There is no Northumbrian language only a dialect of old Anglish and Viking both of which were invaders from europe and the ancient tribal groups have been long ago lost any identity after subjugation from numerous foreign invaders.

I do not dispute that Edinburgh is part of Northumbria but the west coast lot plus fifers and the rest are still definitely Scots/Picts. Also despite being Scots, I cannot understand why its the height of sophistication to wrap a pleated blanket round your nethers and forgoe underwear
