MacRetro chat and rides thread

Caught the last couple of minutes of that show (BBC4 I think?) - may need to iPlayer it. Enjoyed Charlie Brooker doing a 'Gameswipe' afterwards, lots of lovely '80s/early '90s computer nostalgia, including a couple of Scottish 30/40 something guys ranting about 'real' retro computer gaming. Strike a chord? Also looking forward to 'Micro Men', more '80s comp nostalgia with story of Clive Sinclair.

Slapped the new BB in the Stumpy tonight (73x122), and then started to bolt on the XCD crank - bloody hell, granny ring bolts fouling the chainstay, how wide does the spindle need to be arrgghh. So, looks like the 300LX crankset is going on instead, just need to get those seized pedals off - now soaking in 10 year automatic transition fluid - well its all I had handy.

Might as well ask here since he is an honourary haggis muncher, how was trumpton tonight? You boys using lights? And what was the weapons of choice for the lads?

Thrunton was ace as ever. It was pissing it down so we stuck to the woodsy bits instead of heading out onto the open moor. We rode until the lights ran out of juice and I had big blisters on my palms from the wet gloves. Found a few new sections and ran the re-opened HP Sauce twice at a fair old lick. Its a proper skills sharpener in the dark is that place.

Love it!

yeah I remember the woods section- me got very claustrophobic in there- I like the open moorland, latent fear of the trees as a result of watching a pirate copy of "evil dead"

Don't forget that OWMTBC is in the UK in 2010. My guess would be that it will be oop north somewhere too.

Could be a busy ole year SSEC/SSUK/OWMTBC/MM quite fancy squeezing in some of the Scottish events too.

*Rubs hands* That's a lot of events to look forward to next year. more motivation to get through winter without piling the flab on.

Don't think I'd be travelling to Mayhem but going to try to make the others. Quite fancy some of the Scottish 10's.
