MacRetro chat and rides thread

David, if you do the CX with Kaiser then thats one I'll definitely do myself in good old Dundee.

You can just use the GT as is, skinny tyres are not a requirement, just helpful as CX is famous for becoming a mud bath. You do have to remove bar ends and fit bar plugs if using flat bars as close quater racing can result in stab wounds with open bars.

Remember a bit of running and bike carrying is involved so moving mounts and dismounts without catching ones manhood are best practiced. I cannot do this worth a dam so will probably end up speaking in a high voice

As for Engerland, dont worry I can speak the lingo, my mums from North Shields, just ask them politely to slow down and emphasise their vowel sounds ;)

Pending babysitting arrangements, could well be a go-er - If I had a preference, Sundays are slightly easier for me to swing.

Mountain biking in a foreign country - how exotic. Best get my jags up to date ;)

just bring some pepper spray the native can turn ugly very quickly

You can also trade with coloured glass beads and alcohol.

Lots of Anti-English banter from MacRetro of late. Is this just pre-race bravado or are youse just trying to make me as grumpy as 'Victor' Velo?

the more I think of it, the more I realize I don't get this cyclocross thing- as Mr scottish dragon would say " It's a crazy idea and for that reason..... I'm out"- enjoy the wee hurdles lads

pre-race banter always- gets the blood up  any word from anyone else for the race P20?

Andy says that P20 was talking about it on Saturday. Will ask him tommorrow when we're Thruntoneering.

Gaz, you get SS racing which is extremely minority but you dont get cyclocross.

I get any competative event, I just choose what I enter rather than poo poo what I dont.

Lance Armstrong the undisputed TDF champ of champs is also a cyclocrosser and a damned good one plus he can mix it with the XC MTB crowd. CX gets you fit and keeps you fit, your already a scary fit SS rider, with CX you could be better still ;)

Alas I'm scary unfit, least ways I am today, feels like someones turned up gravity a few notches of the dial

that's a real bummer velo, I forgot all about the ME. esp. of late and the way you've been attacking them there hills

I'm not dissing the CX fraternity just don't get it and TBH if it's a pass I'm using I would prefer to use it XC riding- I have heard the social side is very good with the cross mob but given I hang out with the macretro massive you can deduce that I ride in order to ride not to be social......

only kidding

Gaz, I'm on here a lot because the works internet blocker is currently on the fritz but the b###### will sort that eventually.

Whats your excuse, I hope its because your scouring the world for fresh employment opportunities that will stop you getting so much bike fitness and again lower you to the ranks of normal MacRetro prowess

the baby's sleeping and the other boys are out annoying the neigbours

quick question boys- seatpost for a killer V 27.2?

and did they lacquer old xt cranks, got a pair that have highly polished patches and dull the rest, what do need to get the lacquer off so that I can get a consistant finish, my other lx cranks seem not to have this issue?

Mr Panda got a route for you boys on Sat?
