MacRetro chat and rides thread

know where you're coming from velo but I ran 1.8 IRC's on the stumpie on arran and they coped admirably, we all managed BITD and for a SS they roll faster which is always good (mind you not sure I'd take they to inners )

Great Glen Way - Got back at 12.30 last night - in work today, Great Glen Way was fantastic, 41 miles the first day and 32 the second, 80% offroad firetrails/landy tracks 5% singletrack and the rest on road.

Loads of good food and beer, massive climbs on day 2 - a 2mile 200 meter climb followed after lunch with a 5 mile 350 meter climb - (I walked a lot of this one  ) followed by amazing downhills on and offroad.

4rse feels a bit sore today and I have lack off sleep tiredness, I'll put up some photos tomorrow.

To make us feel like wimps we met 2 guys at the bunkhouse, doing the west highland way in 1 day (90miles)

Do I smell a possible epic MacRetro weekend in the offing?

Looking forward to the photies - not keen on any kind of after lunch exertion, that climb sounds like a killer.

How did your unfit chums do? Any casualties?

We did Corpach (near fort william) to Inverness Castle:
Southisde canal
northside Loch Lochy
southside loch Oich
northside Canal/Loch Ness

Mechanicals between 6 - 1 broken spoke and a dfew v brakes needed adjustment after 2 of the downhills

No casualties but our unfit member did suffer greatly on the climbs - even when he was walking, we persuaded him not to pull out at the end of the first day, glad he stayed with us it would have been sad not to all finish.

tis cool velo , it's not the most retro looking bike is it ?

i only bought it as pretty much no-one else has one around here.... i think it was a limited frame down under (500 i was told) and theres only 3 in the uk (i have the only one in scotland) .

i should have it up and running again soon :D :D :D :D
