MacRetro chat and rides thread

Speaking as a noob and someone who can best be described as a bit shy around folks he doesn't know... I wouldn't describe the Macretro thread as daunting, but like any online community it's kind of like approaching a group of people at a party and inserting yourself into their conversation. For me, it was Jamie who gave me my opening when he posted in my Reader's bike Hardrock thread and told me to head over here for some tartan tinged chat. Soooo, what am I trying to say? Keep an eye out elsewhere on the forum, and drag over any Scots noobs - it kind of gives them an 'in'.

I'm much the same, if I hadn't went to the first MacRetro would I have participated so much? Not sure. I do think we try to round up a few folks but some times you think you may be pestering. After three times I kinda decide there not interested and move on.

I'll get on to it next week while I am away on business - nothing to do at night time as it is in the middle of nowhere.... and I can't take my bike.

I fink the blue short sleeve with white band and our Ecurie logo badge on left breast would look pretty smart as a race jersey.

As for MacRetro, I'm glad we're getting bigger but we must not rest on our laurels. Would be good if we could get more regional subgroups within Scotland so that the likes of Mr Panda, Jamie and The Ken were not so isolated from us central belters. We must go north some day, possibly for some roady action as our northern bretheren seem to be from roady stock. Plus I want to see the Ken's completed road bike eventually ;)

ZigZag, cable outer is cable outer, its not specific to any type of cycling, get some pink cable outer, you obviously like the idea ;)

Yes thats the one. On the sleeves good too. Perhaps loggo on the white band then ?

Would look really cool for a group of us to show at an event in the same livery, proper team feel :D

Thanks, wasn't sure if external diameter was maybe a different size... And yes they'll go lovely with the pink on the 'Hopper's decals. Plus it's cheaper than getting pink hubs, although they would be spiffy too.

Like the jersey, but it's a bit retro though... oh wait...

Gear and brake are different, gear is smaller and has a different structure.

OK pedant gear and brake are different but if he wants brake outer for brake inner its not a problem.

Plus as brake outer is slightly bigger bore you can use it for both gear and brake especially if it has a teflon coated/plastic lining tube.

Gear outer however is gear specific.

Fitters, so precise
