cold in October in the uk? What happened to this global warming anyway.

Had a weekend in north yorks at end of September last year and had a very cold night indeed. Got about 2 hours of disturbed shivery sleep and then did Dalby Red with a hangover on the On One.

Oh its going to be a toughie, but braw.

We start with a few miles of Ae Line before heading north along fireroad toward the southern Upland way near Beattock. We follow the way NW and swing SW around Daer Res'r and then over the Cleuches of the southern Lowther Hills, next up is a cracking descent of around 5 miles down Tansley Burn and Garroch Water and then a short tarmac blast SW back to where we started. We then collect our kit from the cars and head north once again for the last 2.5 miles to our Bothy. Total distance is approx 30 miles- 99% offroad.
Sunday we have two options- a half day in AE or get into the cars for a 15 min drive to Drumlanrig.

Heres a sneeky peek at your home for the night..

What yae think

Awww, I thought it was the full on 30miles carrying our kit not a normal day out on the bikes followed by 2.5 mile fully kitted up. Nae point fitting panniers for this just a back pack, I've been misled :(

Na not a problem, looks and sounds good :D

Feel free to carry it all the way round. On this route you are going to wish you didnae have a camelback to carry round never mind all the kit!

I'm fitting a rack as we will need to get some firewood on our way up to the bothy.
