MacRetro chat and rides thread

Velomobile still boogered, needs a mechanic, rats :(

So only meets I'm going to are near me which luckily is the case for a bit :D

Roadbike is taking shape, 10 speed seems to be the way ahead, neighbour thinks it looks cool. Alas rear wheel takes bearings of a size I don't have, more scrabbling about in Bike Station parts drawers

Mark is definitely a spray paint maestro, racer may need his talents later.

After seeing Mr Panda slog around Arran sans Helmet I feel we really should insist on helmets for our rides, we do crash alot and dont bounce like we did in our youth. I've advised Big Eck to get a lid for the pentlands meet, he's only got a full face so far. Sorry for the serious bit, just came to mind as I typed, boy I'm dull.

That's about right   mind you they do look pretty.

It has to be said that the stumpie Rides better  old school racing geo doesn't fit me these days.

Think you are right velo helmets are pretty useful, glad I had mine when I slid over the bonnet of an old duffer from the lakes last year, head would have been toast if I didn't have a lid on.j

Frame is looking the part! (also liking the Capri too). Gazz, you know you'll need to get the wee fella an Orange top to go with yours too, right?

Bad news about the mobile velo, I'm voting for an insurance job, electrical fire perhaps? Does fibreglass melt? Would like to see a puddle of Robin  I like the way the BSA looks, not sure a respray would do it any favours. A T-cut and polish if you must :)

Off to Alton Towers for a couple of days early tomorrow, last minute trip with my daughter since I didn't take her away for a proper summer holiday this year. Bad dad, bad

fiberglass doesnt melt but when it catches fire it goes in a big way . you end up left with what looks like a pile of ash and grey hair stuff

Oi Macretro!
I'm going to organize a bothy ride in the borders in late October, any of youse lot fancy it? Plans is for a out and back route starting mid morning and around 30 miles ride followed by a night in a bothy before returning the following morning and aiming to finish just after lunch. I'm starting on the route this week and will incorporate a few stops at public houses along the way. Should be a good craic

more details to follow in the NE section over the next few days
