road bikes are pretty cool jimi they sure are one way to keep fit I just don't see them as pretty eye candy, now a clockwork on the other hand mmmmmmm

nice!

you need to get down to my neck of the woods, the local trail is really worth a run and I did it on the rigid stumpie so is do-able even if it is pretty technical.

Hope you boys have a blast at glentress wish I was there, roll on arran. 8)

Managed to get out for an hour up the Braes yesterday but my favourite trail through to Johnstone is totaly overgrown, tryed riding it for a bit but the undergrowth was getting tangeld in the wheels  , need to take this with me next time

Had a play about with Jamie's old FSR too, got the chainstays back from BETD on Friday, bushes all nice and tight, needing a Canti hanger for the forks but i think Z3's are a bit late for Canti's so going to make something up and get my neighbour to weld it to the bridge, should be easy enough, got most parts to build it (some of the bits from the Manitou), only other sticky thing will be the shock, Jamie mentioned some of the oil leaked out when he left it with no air in it so i'll get a pump and try it but if it's minced i'll probably go for a new Risse Genesis as sadly the Fox Alps cant be rebuilt.

Going to build it as is for now but will strip it and paint it later, rear will stay polished, undecided on colour but main triangle will be either black or red, forks will be either gunmetal grey or silver, will get original style stickers to finish it off.

GF was happy with a shopping trip to Braehead for her birthday , i had a look in Halfords, quite like the Boardman road bike at £650, bit out my price range just now though, popped into Evans but did'nt see anything i fancied under £1200  , so bought a couple of bits of gear (shirt and pants) and popped back to HMV and bought the Sweeney box set complete second series

a hanger exists for the BAM arch . you should see 2 little threaded holes for it . very rare though . by the time the bombers care around most were on Vs or going to disc

number 26 , i couldnt find a pic of a real one so had to screenshot the manual

Ah, cheers for that Perry, should imagine it'd be quite rare as you say though, did notice those two little holes but thought they were a bit wee to hold a hanger, thought they were for a reflector but notice from the diagram the standard hanger hooks onto the bridge and the tiny bolts just hold it in place, will keep an eye out for one but was thinking about just drilling out a short bit of alloy rod and welding that on.

looks good jimi what you bringing to arran BTW?

Cheers, only thing i've got riding is the E3, was hoping to have the FSR riding but not going to happen, stuck for parts for everything else, still waiting on rims from CRC for the Bomber, still sitting on the fence as to what to do with the LTS, noticed CRC are doing a new FOX shock for £40 i think will fit, needing to buy everything from scratch for the Clockwork so that'll be a while.

Urgh, a bit sore after GT yesterday, could have done with not dragging my arse out of bed for work...

As we were pootling about yesterday, it occurred to me how much I like my Hardrock - it's a joy to ride, it's light, chuckable and the Judy T2 at the front really suits it. I'm thinking I'd get more out of it if it wasn't SS though, so I'm considering 1x9'ing it. Then I'd take some Nitromors to my Avalanche frame, and get that all nice and Oooh Shiny and SS that instead. Also stick some mid '90s GT decals on it to sow further confusion.

Having said all that, I am keeping my eyes peeled for a mid 90's Spesh that hasn't been frankensteined - I really should own at least one proper RB  If I find one, I'll just have to resist the temptation of slapping a front disc on it.
