January is always the month of Bawbags, and it always make me think of you bawbags

It has to happen this year and as long as its not the Puffer weekend then I will be there, for sure. We can't let this fine tradition fade away.

Definitely, time for some discussion in general about next year I'd say. Bawbags is usually a good start to the year though, proper old school trails to go with the old school bikes and riders .

what websites do people use to plan bike rides/routes?

I'm wanting to either plan a road route or download an existing route in tcx format.

I used to use Bikeroutetoaster but that site no longer seems to work?
I've looked at RidewithGPS but to download anything I have to pay membership, are there any similar sites that are free to use?

Just make a route using Bing maps. Bing maps use ordinance survey maps so are pretty good.
Just make your own routes no need for all this reliance on GPS stuff. Don't get me wrong sometimes its useful for my audax stuff and their routes are always downloadable to the computer so can print it out.
