I read through this and was impressed with your running commentary.

I tried to imagine how challenging it will have been on that 28 mile loop, and then recalled our 'Lakes adventure' (where you and I finally joined up all the best bits of the last 10 years of Grizedale explorations into one ride) that was pretty epic at 6 hours of tough singletrack, but we had great weather and each other to talk to. It was very tiring and I was completely wrecked after it.

This must have been a tough one.

In one mind, I am thankful you didn't drag me along, and in another, I am jealous I wasn't there to share it.

This is the 4.4 miles from Stocksbridge to Langsett Reservoir, and the 4.8 miles back to stocksbridge from Langsett Reservoir

So add this to the 38 miles from the books route and my total was 47.2 miles.

Doctors Gate was mad in the fog, and I did think to myself what the hell am I doing. It was like a scene from The American Werewolf in London.
