Ive been looking on & off for a Lotus sport for some years now with not much joy… I’m not sure if the lack of survivors was from a general apathy towards them for being a re-branded British Eagle or maybe not so many were sold as they were arguably over-priced back in the day.
I don’t have a great knowledge of them, and most of that was gleaned from here, but I think the Green was dressed in LX kit, the Magenta in DX and the Black I think came in two versions, the XT & the XTR with seat tube sizes of 16”, 18” & 20”
So, back to my hunt.. I put a few feelers out on old threads here and although I received no reply from any of the OP’s, I did get a reply from Yetinut, who had a small 16” Black XT, number K3061447, just the right size for my lad Jimmy.
No sooner had it arrived when up popped an e-bay search e-mail with an 20” Magenta DX, number K3060886….. what was I to do?
So here they are, they won’t get worked on till the Summer, I’m thinking they might make a great project for me and the lad another “Father & Son” project.
If any of you knowledgeable lot have any info/history to add I’d be much obliged...
