Loose cassette

@novocaine - I’m pretty sure there’s no spacer missing.
@benjabbi - I don’t have a shaped washer, I don’t recall seeing one on any 8 speed cassettes?
It’s sooo close to fitting, if I use a spacer it’s going to be very thin.

I’ve got to go out now, I’ll try again tomorrow with a different cassette.

Yes that should have the washer.
See where the bolt ends stick out and stop the sprocket resting against the cassette. It goes in there to fill that gap.
It's at most 1mm thick. Probably get one from SJS for pennies. 👍 😁

There is and you picture shows where its from. As I said at the start, you are missing the spacer from better 2 and 3.

Here's one with the spacer in the picture for you. Yes I had to wait till I got home to take a picture. 🤣

Whatever it’s called, I can’t find one.
I’ll try googling Spasher and Wacer, see if that helps.
Sorry, but I suspect you'll be lucky. Its an old part that was never sold separately to my knowledge. Let me lock if I have one from a dead cassette.

Looks like have a parcel with your name on awaiting collecting already - I'll put this in there😉

I hope your 8 speed cassette isn't a mixup though, that can cause headaches.

Ben is calling it a washer. I'm calling it a spacer. Washer is for rotational, this is to spread it over the pin. I'm right, Ben's wrong. This is an important distinction for an Inn dweller. 😝
Spacer, washer, shim, Burt or George. I don't care. Everyone knew what I meant.
Now I'm calling Dave a pedant. :)
Nice one @bikeworkshop, all that stock comes in handy for stuff like this.
