Looking for an 8 speed 36 hole hub.... where to source?

Hey all,

Building a new MTB rear wheel and could do with some help. I have a Mavic X517, rim brake, 36 hole rim on the way and now after a decent and preferably retro hub. 8 speed shimano cassette. What would you look for and where would you get it?. Front is currently a purple Hope. If I need to cut up an existing old wheel to get a decent one I don't mind
