Moved to OT.

Lock ons rule on modern bikes. I'd be surprised if somebody could genuinely claim they'd never have a grip come loose on a long, wet day out on the bike.

I'd not put them on anything retro though.

Have to agree with John,I've had real problems on long wet rides with normal grips so now all my modern bikes have lock-ons but all the retro stuff has ATI/ODI mushroom grips

I ride the hairspray grips ,but i sometimes find them slipping in part.Might be the warm weather or gripping them for a long time.
I wouldnt say the lock ons are too expensive, not with ebay about. :?
I just got a set of ODI grips for £2 on ebay, theres one scraped bit but otherwise theyre mint[+ turn the around so the scrape doesnt show :D ]

I havent ridden them yet so im not voting.
And it stops you scraping hell out the bars when you poke something under the grip to get the GT85 in when taking them off to change the shifters/levers

They dont look overly fat though :?

I remember using those hexagonal shaped foam grips b.i.t.d , no matter what you used to stick them on your bars, once they were soaked through they were coming off / you were coming off
I know lock-on grips aint retro but I did enough falling off back then to do me ;)
They get my vote.

Gc

Lock ons are a bit or revelation...good design and work, got them on all my bikes now.

Had normal grips slip even using glue so lockons were TBH the only solution!

I use Lock on too on modern bike .

much better than hair spray . on my commuter , the grips start moving in onctober and dont stop till april .

Currently not sure where I stand with these. I've got some Yeti Lock-ons on one bike but I'm getting blisters which I've never had before, and they don't seem to have the same cussioning as the normal Yeti hardcores I have on my other bikes - I bought them for ease of shifting things round for which they are ace.

I've also had normal grips move twice on me recently when riding in horrific rain - not had this happen for years

Great in theory but I'm not 100% sold on the actual use of them.

i have lock ons now and havent looked back since i crashed with normal grips in the rain, got a hole in my arm and nearly got my head ran over! lock ons, yes please! although they feel a bit chunky, you dont notice it after a while and the odi bolts are sh*t, also cheap if you look around.
