Do you bother? If so what ones do you use? Reliable or no?

Bontrager XXX Lite 1,75-2,35" - weights about 95g, using them very short, but alot better than Maxxis Ultralight's with 130g. My friend using them (Bontrager's) a lot longer and is very satisfied. Apart being a retro and WW, I ride more like retro - where the mtb is designed for. My weight is about 95kg, so not an easy life for light tubes.

Very important is to have good tire pressure - little more than with heavier tubes, because the light ones are more prone to snakebites, when the pressure is bit too low. Besides they loose air a little through these thin walls - not much, needs some pumping one a week.

Reliable yes, but need more attention to tire pressure.

Cheers

I've had no problem with Continental Supersonics. Maxxis flyweights pinch puncture all the time

Second the Bontrager XXX Lites. But I also add 50 grams Stans Latex. Pinch flats are greatly reduced because of the slipperyness. Punctures don't show themselves. You can add sealant to a Presta tube by clipping the head off the valve and unscrewing the stem to move to the inside. Then redirect the stem back in place and lock nut.

Spent a lot of time with Ritchey WCS and Conti Supersonics without problems.

To be honest I prefer the WCS and light MTB tyres to Tubeless. Lighter too.

I used to love the red latex tubes - Air B I think they were

Lasted years without a flat. And had red dust caps!

I can also recommend the Bontrager XXX Lite. Been using them a while now and they are definitely the best lightweight tube I've found. I remember some nice looking blue latex tubes BITD but it felt as if they needed pumping up every day!

I have a pair of Panaracer greenlites, Poluy urethane at 90 grams or so. Purchased new back in 98-99, still hanging in there, and I've not seen many since.

I also have new latex ones (Air B?) that work well at 120 odd grams.

Enjoy!!
