I was thinking (which obviously hurt), that on here you see many weird and wonderful things you've never even heard of, strange sets of crank arms you never knew existed unusual brakes etc. Anyway on the new bike I want to try and get loads of carbon bits on it and thought there is probably carbon parts I've never heard of. So post your carbon parts please for all to see.

If I've posted this in the wrong section please feel free to move mods, I was unsure if it should be or readers bike parts. :D

hmmm retro carbon parts.... should be interesting.

I don't think I have any Carbon Fire or Carbon Composite parts to show though.

I don't have any retro carbon but i used to have a carbon back plate on my rear mech in the early 90's and my mate had a set of wheels built using carbon spokes. They were awesome wheels.

I had one of these BITD when I raced on the boards.

Cut a long story short, the one I owned was a prototype for Boardmans Lotus bike, damaged and repaired. I used to live in Norfolk, and it was 'acquired' via a source at the Lotus factory in Hethel as it was only a few miles down the road ;)

Was it a C-Fibre webbing or a solid/rigid disc ?

I had some Barflex carbon/kevlar bars on my Orange Elite bitd. I think that it was '93/4 but I'm not certain. They were designed to flex to absorb trail vibration and they were foam-filled for strength.

Can't find any info on them though. :?
