I work for a bike charity which recycles old donated bikes. Sometimes something nice gets left on our forecourt.

This beauty arrived this morning, I must admit I went a bit misty-eyed as I always wanted one back in my youth.

She’ll take a bit of elbow grease and autosol but most of it’s serviceable. It’ll keep me busy for a while.

Re:

Decided to take the old girl home with me after all. Had a bit of a polish up this afternoon resulting in a new/old pair of tan wall tyres on an old pair of XT wheels I’ve had hanging around since I put discs on my old Mount Vision. Had the cassette in the parts washer for a bit and so far so good!

All she needs are a full set of cables and she’ll be back to her former glory. Although I’ve got a pair of XT v brakes I could utilise.

Just a tad small for me really but I’ll have fun for a bit.
