late 80s/early 90s time trial bikes

The other bars to use were Cinelli LA84 (for Los Angeles '84 Olympics) - after they went out of fashion, people used them upside-down on roadsters!

Just realised we may be at cross purposes here. I'm presuming you mean shifters at the end of the tri bars. Not bar end shifters like on a cyclo cross bike. Oh no.

This is Scott Tinley the triathlete at Kona in 87

Macdonalds on the helmet and Speedo's on the bottom end. What was he thinking!

EDIT - where's it gone!! It was there a minute ago, surely it's not THAT indecent a picture is it??

Nice frame though, I wonder what it is?

Eddie Atkins eh? Hmm. Funny thing is that he joined one of my old clubs not long after I moved away.

Broke all my club records.

Considerably

 It was more the appearance of Tinley's bike that was upsetting me. Although the big pic of He Who Shall Not be Named put me off my coffee a bit... He's gone back to the tri world now, I believe.

So not only did you have multiple club records, it took a rider of Eddie's calibre to break them! Where's that "we are not worthy" emoticon thing?

Mark.

No! It is all a lot more simple than it looks. The club records were still in the dark ages when I joined (1967!) and I only improved them by a little. Eddie took them into modern times - by a lot!
