Late 80s early 90s steel framed road bike wanted.

Ideal would be something like a Raleigh triathlon...

Wish list:

- Mudguard eyelets but fairly racy frame.
- lugged frame/forks.
- Shimano 6/7 speed SIS groupset - ideally 105 or nicer.
- Mostly original and complete.
- “Proper” tubing but not necessarily high end - 501 or Columbus Aelle or something would be all good.


Condition wise i’m flexible as long as the frame is straight. Cheap is always good.

Am in Devon but will be travelling to and from North London a bit...

Probably been happiest on 23” seat tube c-t in the past, but a bit smaller would be ok. Medium/large.

Long legs and short arms so depends slightly on top tube length. Shorter is usually better.

Yeah, I think maybe, although it’s quite appealing and deffo worth saving. Looks a bit big maybe, too?

If I saw it at the car boot for £20 I’d probably go for it...

But it’s not what I really really want.

I don’t know what it is, but it looks like it answers my wish list perfectly. Nice...

OTOH, I have ridden some really nice feeling 18-23 Raleigh’s... and bottom of the range dawses, falcons etc... vs lots of disappointing 531 stuff, so I know what you’re getting at.

Never ridden a 501 framed bike that I didn’t like/love.
