 whats the distance to lunch? (just in case i need a head start) and is it pre order or ad hoc?

Not too sure on the distance to lunch but the total ride took me just over 2 hours although that was in the dry and with no stops - I'm guessing in the moist and with a small group we are looking at least 50% more time if not longer so we'll need to keep a steady pace if we want to eat.

The plan is for the pub stop to be both the start and end of the ride so that we can make the best of the light. No need to pre-order food as we can just look at the menu when we turn up and go with whatever we fancy.

I'm planning to come to this and noticed my absence from the attendance list. Might have been a while since its been up dated but just wanted to make it known. My attendance is at your risk. Nuff said.

Also just to liven the debate up again on this thread - Can I bring a unicycle fat bike? It'll have cantilever brakes though as the disc brake was just too harsh.

In addition to also, expecting a smoke machine for the forest sections now Mr K.

Rode over Marcle ridge on Saturday, be it on the road on thought how inviting it looked. Have fitted some gears to my crosser (sadly a compact as all I had) not a fan of the ratios but should do the trick, got some nice Woodchippers fitted too and I'm ready to go

About what? Me riding on the road Saturday or adding gears  the gears are only temporary as the crosser is also my winter bike, once the better weather comes ill swap it all over and fit my SS wheelset.

Apologies, I couldn't make head nor tail of previous mutterings but your name is down now.

I rode the route yesterday, pretty dry all things considering although I neatly bookended the ride with a pair of non-elective dismounts which I'll blame on deep leaf litter rather than technical incompetence. Whole ride took just under two and a half hours with only a couple of horse related stops so we'll need to start promptly and cover ground at a steady pace if we are to get lunch and a pint.

Incidentally, the Marcle Ridge bridleway was sweet yesterday with hub deep leaves covering the roots and giving an extra spice to the terrain - will I bounce off line into barbed wire or veer right into the bushes? Somehow I managed neither but, listening to Faithless, I got to the end and thought "I Want More". And, I'm having more. Soon.
