I've got that collar somewhere but seem to remember the brake cable had sawn nearly all the way through it. I'll see if I can dig it out anyway. I'd been looking at those clamps so thanks for the top tube dimensions as I wondered what size I would need. Might give one of those a go.

Using the dog collar for V-brakes is a bit of a bodge anyway, as it was only designed as a guide and not a stop, so it isn't really hard enough to last forever. You should really just use a plastic ferrule thingy, not a metal one, and if you try that you might find it'll survive a while longer.

S&M BMX cruiser bars;
Oury grips (the obvious choice);
No-name BMX stem;
Old road crank (Sugino?), but have a boxed Campag Record around somewhere;
DMR pedals;
Primo sealed cartridge BMX BB with adjustable chainline;
Brooks saddle;
Schwalbe Big Apple tyres.
