Found on Facebook: 1997 King Kahuna KK17048

"
It's been almost a year since you all convinced me not to sell this beauty. In that year, its been ridden exactly twice. This poor bike needs to go to someone who will give it the love it needs.
Details:
1997 King Kahuna
17" frame
SRAM X-0/XTR drivetrain
Marzocchi Marathon Race fork
Mavic Crossmax wheels
It is in as-raced condition from a former sponsored racer, complete with sponsor decals. I also have the original spec triple butted Project Two fork.
I'm taking offers and I'm also willing to sell just the frame and Project Two fork. I'm in Ohio, USA and I can ship. Buyer pays shipping. I thought I'd try here first before I put it up on eBay"

Cheers, we already have this on file 👍

Nice find from @swannymere Another 94 but with 95 geometry and a real mish-mash of incorrect decals. It's the second oldest frame on file with an aftermarket disc tab.

B19725 - Bullet, Short Seat Tube Extension, replica 1998/99 decals; confirmation of '95 Geometry.

Another one on ebay found by @swannymere

KH19050 - Unpainted Headtube, No Decals. After market disc tab added in 2010.

To be fair, it's not 100% clear whether this is a 98 or 99 but I've gone 99 with the SN snuggly fitting in the sequence (although it could fall into 199:cool:.

We also have a new early 1995 HH thanks to @GeneralOsik and his pal. By early I mean the 2nd on file for 1995, complete with the short seat-tube extension and blue style decals.

B16177 - Short Seat Tube extension, partial 1995 Blue Decals.

@swannymere is on it at the mo. He's found this lovely 96 HHKK-64, one you don't see every day.

B18411-64 - Short Seat Tube extension, Blue Decals.

I've purposely not listed original decals as they look a little too clean and I'm not convinced about the top-tube placement. It could be they are a combo of new and old, but either way, the frame is the star and it's competitively priced. So if you're in the market for one, it's worth checking out (shame it's missing the cable guide but it's not the end of the world).

Just purchased this frame, which I believe is an 18" 1996 Hei Hei Titanium. SN: B18461. I'm at least the 3rd owner. Got it from a fellow in Arizona and had it shipped to me in south Texas. Filthy on arrival, with badly abuse yellow and black decals, which I don't think were original. Working with Gil in GB to get new decals as I start a retro-build; I'm not worried about it being totally correct, it will be a daily rider. Should be a fun build.

Here is one pic of the frame as received; maybe someone can tell me for sure if those decals were original to 1996 Hei Hei. Second pic shows why I picked it up cheap; serious chain-suck damage to right chainstay. Yes, that appears to be a 1/4" crack, or cut, clear thru the chainstay in the middle of the dent. Previous owner had checked with several bike shops; most told him to ride it as it is, one told him he should have it repaired. After finding no competent titanium welder in my local area, I decided to repair the damaged area with Original J-B Weld. I don't plan on rough riding or jumping, just normal roads and maybe a trail once in a while, and this area appears to be about the lowest stress area on the frame, so I'm reasonably confident it will not be a problem. Time will tell if my reasoning is sound.
