Kona pahoehoe 2000 *ride pics added*

I'm not really a big fan of silver unless it's titanium! But just put the bike in the shed and the decals were glowing in the dark and it made me smile :) maybe I'll leave it now esp with longer nights round the corner

Re:

where to find someone who can make custom glow in the dark decals!

Actually dmdmdm emailed me before I got second dibs on the frame so maybe it is possible to give it a new powder coat and some new decals and keep it as is.

Just now the frame is pretty rough

Have you asked Gill if he can do the glow in the dark ones?

looks ace in the silver with the yellow bombers IMHO.

Re:

Sadly gil can't do gitd decals.

Glad you like the yellow bombers. Black would be better but I prefer something brighter. Had a proper forest singletrack ride last night and am enjoying this bike somuch

Re: Kona Pahoehoe 2000 update

Been enjoying the Pahoehoe when I can, not very often mind but had the odd ride where it really does perform well. Been setting some respectful strava times and passing plenty of modern bikes along the way.

But I wanted a lighter fork and something that was not yellow, as much as I love my old Z1's. I thought I had got some Z1 x flys from (2000) but a gumtree chancer was stringing me along. Then i found these Marzocchi Marathon SL's ('04) on ebay. Always fancied a pair but these were a gamble as not much idea and condition etc.

They needed a new ecc adjuster plus a tiny spring, screw and pin to work as Marzocchi intended. thankfully Windwave had the smaller parts in stock and single track forum supplied the knob. Mind the valve adjuster was a bit pricey.

So with a clean, polish and air they seem good to go. Fitted them yesterday but the adjuster on the brakes stripped a thread so no test ride for now. Apologies for crap photo as was throwing it down outside.

The forks are really good cosmetically but the frame looks terrible now so time to crack on with sorting that over summer and looking forward to the first ride with new forks.

That's nice  Friend of mine had a little Pahoehoe when I had my original Muni - always thought mine was light but hers weighed burger all.

Re:

I'd be interested in your thoughts on the forks I've looked at those before. Also need some pics with nice scenery...
