Kona Ku

yeah, youre right, the blue one is definitely the squared off non-jungle stylee though, one of the earlier ones then I guess?

Both of the frames I have labeled as 96 have a K in Ku that is quite clearly different, at least to my eye, than the square K in Kona. The Kona Custom decal is also indicative of 1996. The H in a 1995 Hot is square, and so are the minor case letters. Neither of those Ks in Ku is square, nor very clearly are the us, so I have no doubt that both frames are from 1996.

Did you enquire about the blue frame then, and got the serial number and other details from the seller?

Did you win the auction on ebay? I was highest bidder on that frame until the last 30 seconds and got outbid

I thought it may end up on here!

I disagree actually Anthony (never a wise thing to do when talking to you about Konas, but nonetheless! ).

The 'Kona' part of Kona Custom is in 95 orange on the blue one. And I think that the 'Ku' on it IS square type. Higher res pictures required!

i'm pretty convinced the only rarer kona is the "for play". despite my vague dislike of coke cans, i'd have a ku in seconds.

Well I'm sure your eyes are better than mine Geoff, but the Ku font doesn't look to me quite like this example on a 95 Lava Dome, where the top tube font/edging is exactly the same as on the down tube. Where is the black edging on Ku?

On the other hand, the serial number being as low as 15 does support a 95 attribution I suppose. But if anything though, it might be slightly more interesting to know who built it than when it was built.

Or it´s just number 15 for that model year.

I can't tell if the Ku in question has a black edging, but my 95 Humu definitely does, so that is a 95 feature.

What about the Score? Far less were made than the Ku.
