Kona King Kahuna Titanium Frame, 20" (size XL) For sale

Hi Will,
Here are the photos you have requested of the damage to this frame.

Two Dents one smaller on the left one larger on the right. Clearly rock strikes with dirt in them.

And photos of the the box which was excellently packed by yourself inc foam, cardboard wraps and Bubble wrap.

The inner lid no punctures

base insert..with a puncuture to the far left which doesnt tally to anything in the bottom of the box

KKdamage02.jpg

even so its not possible to line the puncture to the frame damage......puncture is on pedal image.

even then it would have had to puncture thru the bubble wrap, and then extra protection you added to the BB area, which is undamged and tape is still tight.

so as it would have had to go thru 4 layers of cardboard, 1 of bubble warp and damage the tape. Puntching a hole through everything to not only dent but scratch the frame, in two different places.. I'm really not buying this as courier damage.

So as I paid £700+£15 postage for this, a heavy premium over the average condition rate, for...
Condition is among the best I've seen. Decals are original and I have a spare set too incase you wanted to rub down or polish up the frame.
No real marks to speak of bar some light chain suck on the chainstay. I haven't even cleaned the frame up... 15 mins with a fine Scotchbrite and the metal will look brand new!
No damage or cracks. This is the last titanium model that was offered with the Kona "BB shell" lifetime frame warranty, so that speaks volumes about the quality of this frame.

I would either like a full refund, with courier organised to collect on thursday 29th or serious compensation for the actual value of a dented KK frame.

Thank you.
Chris

Ouch.

May be best dealt with via the PM and feedback forum.

Payment by PP (non gift) could offer a viable compensation/protection route.

Thanks very much for the pics, will get something sorted this week, however your proposed £300 discount is a little much!

Text you tomorrow.

no way, £300 is totally fair.

how you could miss dents like that in a description is beyond me.

If the photos are genuine, I'd consider a £300 discount to be getting off lightly fella. Just be thankful he hasn't sent it back already and begun a claim.

Most people will let you off if you don't mention the odd small scratch, but to fail to disclose 3 dents on a high end frame like this (especially when you're asking top whack for it) is poor.

^This & I personally have no reason to believe dablk isn't telling the truth. Just bought a frame from him with NO surprises(extra scratches/damage/etc that weren't disclosed in the Ad, or a misleading ad) when I opened it up.

And having Paypal on your ass is NO fun, believe me. You should consider yourself lucky.

Long time between postage and the pictures though.

The posting of the pics on sunday evening represented the first time i was back home and had time to take actually high def cam pics. Last Wed I had to wait with the car running to head to scotland waiting for the courier. the time frame between signing for the box and taking a camera phone text/pics is 20 mins, done last wed.

I didn't want to result to using the thread but felt i needed to. There are other members and mods that are aware that i have had an issue all week. It was a senior mod who got me the original copy of the first advert to quote from last week, as it was removed before item was even on its way.

EDIT...27/11/12
Agreed refund amount of £185 from the orginal £715. breaking down as £500 for the frame and £15 for the headset with £15 postage.

EDIT..27/11/12
Refund received.
