Kona Hei Hei with unique paint job

in my area (metro Detroit); overpriced, for sure, but a unique paint job. is this style one of the explosif-mimics that the kona team riders tried to sneak past Tange in the late 90's?

Custom SS specific Hei Hei.

Can only presume they were custom small number batches?
