i have a 94 silver kona kilauea which i am about to swap out the forks for some silver z1 x fly's, the stem and handlebars are also silver the grips are brooks leather, so brown, the saddle is also brown.
anyway my question is...do i fit a silver or black headset... i just don't know.
any ideas on which would look best ?

Contrast

Pale frame dark components, dark frame silver/coloured components. A silver frame I feel would look better with Black components.

The Kona designers knew best - silver.

The seat binder is silver, the cable guide is silver, the seat post is silver, the stem is silver, all the frame colours are designed for silver components.

The fact is that black is now the default fashionable colour and lots of people on this site fit black for that reason, even to retro bikes. But in 1994 silver was the default colour and that's the basis on which the Kilauea's colour scheme was chosen.

I'd go silver but, it's your ride. Go with whatever blows your hair back

I don't think you could go wrong with either ;)

I have the same issue at the moment! I'm thinking silver for my 97 Explosif as it seems to compliment the frame colour (gold/mustard). Any thoughts as it not too late to change the order!

Trevor.
