Kona Heads! Suspension correction question. What year?

I have just bought what appears to be a 1996 Kona Lava dome frame from Ernie off here.
Im looking for forks, Pref Project2s Or simillar.

My question is should I be looking for 420 or 440 mm forks, Ie was the Geometry corrected in 1996 or not?

I recall a chat with a friend about this. I believe the correction in geometry was actually a little earlier than 96, 93-94...?

none corrected length are shorter then 420/410mm @ ~390mm
